ACADEMY PROGRAM
In the Fall 2008 Season two options will be offered for U7 coed, U8 coed, and U8 girls:
1) RECREATION: The traditional recreation soccer league with teams.
2) U8 ACADEMY: An opportunity to practice weekly with a professional trainer at the Hobart Soccer Complex, and offer free play games on Saturday, without fixed teams.
The experience of the parents, coaches, and players of the U8 coed Academy Program for the Spring 2008 season was very positive. The instruction the players received during the week by a professional trainer provided the players with more opportunities to enhance their skills and take their game to the next level. The games on the Saturday were coach-directed but certainly player-driven, with the coaches having little or no impact on the course of the games other than making sure that the players had equal playing time by rotating them into the game. The players did not notice that the teams changed each week, and were challenged by the natural competitiveness each of them brought to the game. They were problem-solvers and the teamwork was outstanding. It definitely gives the players an advantage heading into the upcoming season, especially as some may elect to play at the Competitive (Traveling) level that the club offers at U9 playing in the Brevard Youth Soccer League.
While most of you are aware of the traditional recreation league, the Academy Program would be an additional fee.
n $50 for weekly professional training for the season and possibly lights.
n $15 for an additional U8 Academy uniform.
The Academy Program would be designed for the more committed player who wants to enhance his skills.
